As their first location in Lawrenceville quickly began to operate at capacity, Cinderlands Beer Co decided that it was time to expand. Cinderlands partnered with Venture RE to locate the right space for their second, larger scale, brewery and restaurant. After strategic planning sessions and market analysis Pittsburgh’s Strip District neighborhood proved to have the building stock and customer base for the new Cinderlands’ flagship location. Months of property searching lead the team to the old Spaghetti Warehouse property at 2601 Smallman St., with its large floor plate, proximity to parking, and strategic location in the center of Pittsburgh’s Robotics Row. Venture worked with property investors to acquire, finance, and redevelop the property. After acquisition Venture worked with property owners and Cinderlands staff on planning, designing, bidding, financing, and constructing the project.

Venture’s continued involvement ensured Cinderlands’ vision was made a reality. The redevelopment included a full interior and structural demolition leaving only the original exterior brick walls. The structure was then rebuilt from the foundation up, including large structural steel beams as homage to Pittsburgh’s steel history, a large rooftop deck, generous natural light provided by large windows, full glass garage doors and large skylights throughout, dramatic views from the second floor down to the brewery, an open commercial kitchen and a grand open stairwell.

Venture has also stayed on to assist in the Facilities Management to ensure proper operation of all systems and continued improvement to the space.
